The Weatherbys group was founded in 1770 by solicitor James Weatherby. He was originally employed by the Jockey Club in Newmarket to look after entry fees and prize money for the burgeoning ‘Sport of Kings’ that is horse racing. The bank, which started in 1994, grew from this and is today part of a seventh generation British business, with a history of careful stewardship and responsible management rooted in family values.
