Now in its fourth year, the new 2016 winter trail is a botanical wonderland inspired by the garden itself. Enter between two giant Christmas trees festooned with lights and ribbons, and wander beneath unique tree canopies illuminated in seasonal colour.

Light up your night

There is no better time to experience all that Kew Gardens has to offer than at Christmas. There’s something for everyone at this festive time of year as the one-mile sparkling path winds its way through the world-famous gardens in a magical after- dark experience. This year, framed by glittering hedges, the Palm House Pond springs to life with brightly coloured laser beams, fans of light and flickering orbs that dance in time to music inspired by much-loved Christmas classics, new for 2016. The tunnel of light is animated by over 60,000 lights making patterns and pictures to a festive soundscape.

Delicious treats

You’ll be sure to find something you love at one of the many places to eat and drink throughout the gardens. Take a moment to sip on some spiced cider, mulled wine or hot chocolate, while the aroma of roasting chestnuts fills the air. And don’t forget to gather around to toast your own marshmallows.

Winter at Kew gardensAnd much more…

White Peaks welcomes you with a Victorian carousel, helter skelter and other family rides, and don’t forget to look out for Santa and his elves at the North Pole village along the way. Enjoy Kew’s well-stocked gift shops and other traditional fare at Victoria Plaza and White Peaks.
