Belgravia in Bloom: Everything You Need To Know
Belgravia in Bloom returns today (17 May) for a week-long celebration of all things floral, encouraging visitors to enjoy everything that the coveted London district has to offer this spring.
This year’s Chelsea Flower Show might have been postponed until September, but floral enthusiasts can still get their fill in Belgravia. Coinciding with the easing of lockdown restrictions and the most welcome return of indoor dining, the cultural event will see a number of Belgravia shops and restaurants offering floral-themed promotions and special menus, from Jo Loves to Pulbrook & Gould.
Fans of renowned London bakery Peggy Porschen – with its picture-perfect floral facade – will be pleased to know that the store will be offering cupcakes to the first 50 guests. Meanwhile, a visit to Eccleston Yards’ Pan-n-Ice on 22 May (12-6pm) might get you a delicious free ice cream roll (if you’re one of the lucky first 500).
Elsewhere, enjoy Pistachio Zucchini Loaf Cakes and Strawberry and Rhubarb Tarts at the newly opened Chestnut Bakery, and head to Jones Family Kitchen to try one (or all) of the restaurant’s new cocktails: Eccleston Fizz, Our Thyme and Pink Ramitez, exclusively available for the week. For those who enjoy exploring their artistic side, MasterPeace in Eccleston Yards will be hosting a floral-themed ‘paint and sip’ al fresco art class (18 May) to coincide with the festivities.
Belgravia has also partnered this year with fashion consultant and co-founder of FashMash, Rosanna Falconer, to design a curated neighbourhood guide to the district. Delight in a series of aesthetic spring tablescapes at Sumerill & Bishop, shop florals at Neill Strain Floral Couture, and indulge in Broad Bean and Asparagus Risotto (a favourite of Rosanna’s) at Daylesford on Pimlico Road. See more of her top picks here.
The official Belgravia in Bloom festival is set to take place this year from 20-26 September (alongside the RHS Chelsea Flower Show), but after a year of store closures and staying at home, this week’s spring celebration is more than welcome.
