Bonfire Night 2020: Drive-In Firework Displays Going Ahead

The Bonfire Night shows making this November one to remember

Like pretty much everything else this year, many Bonfire Night displays have been cancelled this year as a result of the pandemic. But it’s not all doom and gloom: there are a handful of drive-through firework displays taking place around the country, allowing guests to enjoy sparkling shows from their cars. Nothing beats the atmosphere of big crowds – but at least you’ll stay warm and dry.

Drive-In Firework Displays in the UK

Suffolk: Sotterley Hall Estate

Residents of Suffolk will be treated to two drive-in firework displays in the idyllic grounds of Sotterley Hall. Guests will have the option to pre-order food and drink before arrival via email, and there’s going to be strict timings: doors open at 5pm, last entry is 6.30pm, the display will last half an hour and cars will be directed off the estate shortly afterwards. Tickets are selling fast, so act quickly if you’re keen.

Midlands: Drive In Fireworks

There are three socially distanced drive-in bonfire events taking place across the Midlands, in Northampton, Peterborough and Newark. Sadly there’ll be no food and drinks being sold, but you’re welcome to bring your own, and local radio stations will be providing an upbeat soundtrack.

Cornwall: Wadebridge

Get in there early at Wadebridge’s Royal Cornwall Showground, which is kicking off the Bonfire Night season with a drive-in firework display on 1 November to hopefully pre-empt last minute restrictions forcing a cancellation. Arrive in good time, park up, enjoy food and drinks from a selection of vendors, and marvel at the glittering show.
