    Oxford Street

    One of the most highly anticipated Christmas switch-ons in the country, this year Oxford Street are lighting the West End in a more sustainable style. 27 spectacular LED light curtains comprising of 220,000 lights have been suspended high above the iconic street, showcasing an array of specially curated festive content. What’s more, the new state-of-the-art display is set to save up to 90 per cent energy as opposed to more traditional light exhibitions.

    Eccleston Yards

    Amidst the foray of festive madness, head to Mayfair and Belgravia’s Eccleston Yards to see this year’s wellbeing-inspired Christmas light instillation.     Marylebone Village

    Nestled within the upscale district of Marylebone, Marylebone Village poses an impressive annual display of twinkling Christmas lights. This year, all proceeds from the highly anticipated switch-on will were donated to the ground-breaking charity Teenage Cancer Trust.

    Covent Garden

    London’s favourite shopping, dining and culture destination becomes even more magical at Christmas when the twinkling lights are up and the famous 55ft Christmas tree is elegantly adorned. While you’re admiring the 115,000-strong lights sprinkled across the piazza, be sure to check out the Markey Building’s giant gingerbread installation, crafted from London-based bakery Biscuiteers, as well as the annual handpicked Christmas tree, enhanced with over 30,000 sparkling lights.

    The upmarket area close to Buckingham palace always puts on a magnificent light display. This year, the entirety of Jermyn Street will play host to London’s largest light installation, ‘The Spirit of Christmas’.

    Baker Street Quarter

    For the first time ever, Marylebone’s Baker Street Quarter is immersed in sparkling Christmas lights. Alluding to the iconic places and characters associated with the illustrious area, the light instillations are a tribute to ‘Baker Street Bazaar’, ‘Marylebone Pleasure Garden’, Lady Montagu’s ‘Blue Stocking Parties’ and the emblematic Sherlock Holmes.

    Wembley Park Winterfest

    Wembley Park is shining brighter than ever with the launch of ‘Winterfest’, a brand new series of immersive light and sound instillations from an array of expert designers.     St Katharine Docks

    Central London’s only marina is awash with Christmas festivities, which kicked off with a water-side lights switch-on where Santa swapped his sleigh for a speedboat. This year, the Docks are once again hosting the popular Floating Film Festival, which will be screening holiday flicks on the water, to be enjoyed while indulging in the Yuletide trifecta of mulled wine, mince pies and hot chocolate.

    In a nod to the surrounding luxury boutiques, this year’s Mount Street Christmas lights display has been designed to resemble an elegant teardrop necklace.

    The Shard

    The Shard’s annual Christmas display sees the building’s top 20 storeys glow even brighter in a vibrant lights spectacle. This year’s display has been designed by children from Snowsfields Primary School in Bermondsey, involving 552 LED lights and fixtures which took over 4,000 hours to put together. The sequences will reflect the designs created by the schoolchildren, lighting up the capital with an exciting and inspiring visual display. Watch the dazzling sequence – displayed every half hour from 4pm to 1am on each day in December – from nearby Vinegar Yard, enjoying the festive treats and unobstructed views.
