Covent Garden is Set to Reopen This Month
Good news for those who have missed perusing the shelves of London’s luxury stores: Covent Garden is set to reopen on 15th June.
The renowned entertainment and shopping centre located at the heart of the West End will begin its steady return to normality this month with a number of retailers opening their doors to the public. Each store that is set to reopen, as well as the Market Building and Covent Garden Piazza, will adhere to social distancing measures to ensure the retail experience is as safe and enjoyable as possible in light of the current circumstances.
Chanel, Charlotte Tilbury, Dior and Tiffany & Co are amongst the stores reopening, in which important measures – marked queuing systems, social distancing signage, hand sanitiser – have been incorporated to ensure as safe a shopping experience as possible.
Brands will also be implementing new retail experiences in light of social distancing, from individual appointments to digitally-enhanced shopping. Great British Brands Charlotte Tilbury and Mulberry will be trialling brand new services, with the luxury cosmetics brand offering a click/call-and-collect service, and the fashion house providing virtual store appointments. Tiffany & Co. will also be putting new services into action, including a dedicated concierge service, personal tailored appointments, accompanied browsing, and virtual styling sessions.
Covent Garden’s historic Market Building will also be open for business, with hand sanitiser stations and a new one-way system in place to ensure visitors maintain social distancing. Customers will also be able to rest up in a brand new social distanced public seating area in Covent Garden’s Piazza, in which al fresco restaurants are set to open in the coming weeks. Iconic restaurants such as SUSHISAMBA and Oystermen are expected to open later this summer.
