Mel X BEEN London

Model and member of the British Royal Family, Lady Amelia Windsor has joined forces with sustainable accessories brand BEEN London to launch a limited edition crossbody bag, just in time for World Earth Day. “I really admired BEEN London’s solution driven approach to our global waste problem,” says Mel. “Using classic designs, artisanal craftsmanship and innovative recycled materials to create beautiful bags that look and feel incredible, but are actually made from ‘waste’ was something I wanted to be part of.” The innovative and stylish ‘everyday’ bag has been crafted with leather offcuts and bright pink lining made from recycled polyester, with the option to have the bag personalised and embossed by BEEN. What’s more, the brand and sustainability advocate have teamed up with non-profit organisation Tree-Nation to plant one Moringa tree for every bag purchase made. Aspinal Earth Day

Aspinal of London

Renowned for its luxury leather goods, Aspinal of London has launched a limited-edition collection of sustainable totes in celebration of World Earth Day. Crafted with upcycled cotton canvas (drawn from the brand’s existing archives) and metal-free (and therefore less harmful) leather, the tote can also be personalised using silk thread embroidered initials. A certified partner of the South Downs National Park Trust, Aspinal is also donating 10 per cent of sales from each of its Bee Keyrings to support the planting of a local wildflower meadow, which will in turn encourage and support local bees and butterflies.

Fenton

Fenton

Mark Earth Day 2021 with a sparkly something from ethical and sustainable British jeweller Fenton. Recently awarded the prestigious B Corp status, the brand specialises in beautiful rings created from ethical gemstones as an alternative to traditional diamonds.

Fenton oversees the whole supply chain itself and only sources from world leaders in ethical mining that have regulated policies that uphold their standards. It’s fine jewellery – with a clear conscience. fentonand.co

Yoko Ono

Yoko Ono’s I LOVE YOU EATRH

Serpentine has joined forces with media company Clear Channel to commemorate Earth Day this year with a series of billboards featuring Yoko Ono’s I LOVE YOU EARTH. Part of the gallery’s long-term project Back To Earth, the public artwork originally existed as a song on the artist’s album Starpeace, before being rendered as a thought-provoking public artwork. “There are so many of us in the world who are now awakened, ready to act to save our world,” said Ono. “So let’s work together to save this planet. Together.”

Irene Forte

Irene Forte Skincare

Sustainability has always been at the core of everything Irene Forte does, but now the skincare brand is going one step further. This Earth Day, the Italian business – founded by ‘Green Hero’ Irene Forte – is announcing the launch of refillable packaging and a brand new recycling programme to begin in June. The brand is partnering with environmental recycling business First Mile to enhance its recycling process, making it possible to recycle non-refillable product lids and pumps, and introducing a prepaid return address to encourage customers to recycle their used products. As for packaging, the brand will continue to craft its boxes from 100 per cent recycled fibres, whilst bottles and jars will be created with recycled glass, in which the majority can be refilled. ireneforteskincare.com
