Nestled among the stylish boutiques of Marylebone is Lisson Gallery, specialising in contemporary art. Around since 1967, it’s not as large as the Tate or V&A but the exhibitions are creative, unique and beautifully curated. 27 Bell Street, NW1 5BY and 67 Lisson Street, NW1 5DA

The Crypt Gallery, Euston

The Crypt Gallery, Euston

This gallery is so secretive, it’s not even above ground. The Crypt Gallery at St Pancras Church became a gallery in 2002. Before that, in 1822, it was used for coffin burials. Creepy, cultural. Best of both worlds. Euston Road, NW1 2BA
