Create a seasonal showpiece at home with Wardian and Botanical Boys

It’s safe to say we could all do with a bit of festive cheer in our lives right now – and nothing says Christmas like a seasonal wreath. So, we’ve got just the ticket for your December calendar: the ultimate at-home wreath making workshop with Wardian, a biophilic-designed residential development in Canary Wharf.

In partnership with the Botanical Boys, the duo whose mission it is to connect people with nature, the class will take place on 15 December via Zoom. Beforehand participants will be sent a kit featuring seasonal mosses, English-grown dried fruit, 30m wired wreath base, a reel of wire and pine cuttings – all of which are easily recyclable. You’ll use these to create a beautiful wreath, which can take pride of place on your front door throughout the festive season.

BOOK: Sign up to the wreath making class here.

Wardian London

Wardian and Botanical Boys are a perfect match.

In early 2021, Wardian will get even greener thanks to the arrival of a new Botanical Boys shop. This will be the second store for co-founders Darren and Ben, who developed an interest for all things green after renovating the garden of their East London flat back in 2009. The pair established Botanical Boys in 2016 with the aim of bringing nature into homes through plants and terrariums.

Developed by EcoWorld Ballymore, Wardian is designed to create a living experience that boosts mental and physical wellbeing. Inspired by the 19th century creation Wardian Case by Dr Nathaniel Bagshaw Ward – used to transport exotic plants around the world – all 766 apartments feature their own private gardens, complete with an abundance of plant life. Greenery is found throughout the development too, with contemporary glass cases filled to the brim with trees and plants resembling London’s historic conservatories at Kew Gardens and The Barbican.

The plant-based opportunities don’t stop there. Wardian also offers an indoor and outdoor landscaping service for residents titled ‘The Gardener’, with the option to invest in seasonal plant packages and comprehensive garden maintenance to maximise the floral variety of each apartment. All this has extra significance amid the current climate, as we’re spending more time at home than ever before.
