This September, renowned Grosvenor Square restaurant 34 Mayfair launched a new wellness series: 34 at 34, a programme of talks from industry experts surrounding health and wellbeing. As suggested by the name, each talk lasts for 34 minutes, led by journalist and C&TH columnist Alice B-B. The series kicked off in September with Paddy Archer, founder of CaliFlow, London’s newest boutique movement studio.
The next event in the series takes place on 8 October (during the week of World Mental Health Day) and will focus on the important topic of men’s mental health. Two experts will be taking part in a discussion: therapist Joshua Dickson MSC, who runs trauma recovery positive psychology surf retreats, and Cornelius O’Shaughnessy, founder of mind and body retreat Bodhimaya. During the roundtable breakfast they’ll open up about their own mental health journeys, before opening up the floor to a Q&A with guests. Joshua – who is also a licensed HeartMath coach, and a group consultant at Start2Stop – will discuss founding his retreat and the power of surfing, while Cornelius will delve into Eastern approaches to wellbeing, something he has been studying for over 20 years.
During the discussion, guests will enjoy a nutritious breakfast served by Head Chef Harvey Ayliffe, and leave with a complimentary mental health workbook from Joshua to implement into their wellness routine.
Events will take place in The Emin Room, 34 Mayfair’s unique private dining space, which is filled exclusively with works from iconic artist Tracey Emin. Further talks in the ’34 at 34′ programme will cover subjects such as mindful exercise, mental health awareness, and innovations in physical cellular therapies.
