Celebrating one of the world’s most legendary pop groups, ABBA: Super Troupers The Exhibition, an immersive showcase dedicated to the illustrious Swedish band, will take place at The O2 this December, a fantastic fusion of memorable lyrics, albums, artefacts and more, as well as the cultural and personal influences which aided the band’s significant evolution.
Discover the fascinating history of ABBA’s rise to fame, from a recreation of that iconic Eurovision Song Contest performance to objects from their personal lives pre-stardom, and a showcase of some of the most beloved and archetypal ABBA-esque costumes, including those from the Super Trouper album cover. Visitors will also find an impressive 40 Gold Discs on display, a recreation of a super-fan’s ABBA-devoted living room, and a chance to say ‘Thank You For The Music’ with a commemorative song and dance before the exhibition’s end amidst a backdrop of memorabilia.
What’s more, visitors can also listen to an audio guide narrated by renowned writer, TV personality and radio presenter Gemma Cairney throughout, detailing the key contexts and features to look out for in order to enhance the exhibition experience.
Gemma Cairney said of the exhibition: ‘I am delighted to have been asked to narrate ABBA: Super Troupers The Exhibition. The project sounded far too fun and uplifting not to get involved. For me, ABBA are the absolute epitome of pop music and complete masters of their craft, having written some of the most universally joyful songs of all time. I think there’s a time in everyone’s life where they start thanking ABBA for the music. Whether you are a long-standing fan or have come to the band more recently, ABBA: Super Troupers The Exhibition will immerse you in the wonder of the ABBA’s legacy. Join us in celebrating the phenomenon!’
