Now in its twentieth year, the annual Affordable Art Fair is returning to London’s Battersea Park, celebrating its anniversary in sophisticated 90s style. This year, the highly anticipated event is hosting a 90s themed extravaganza, with an exciting array of activities, workshops, talks and events, along with the showcasing of over 1,000 contemporary artworks. With pieces priced from an affordable £50 all the way up to £6,000, there is bound be something to catch the eye of every art-enthusiast.
With fairs spanning destinations such as Milan, Amsterdam, Hampstead and Hong Kong, those who enjoy accumulating art, or simply love indulging in the works of other emerging and established contemporary artists, can immerse themselves within this fantastic fair which celebrates ‘the joy of art collecting’.
90s nostalgia will reign through the fair, with a whole host of events, workshops and artworks dedicated to the decade. Enjoy a 90s pop culture-inspired workshop with Central St Martins and create a Brit Art classic in the style of renowned YBA artist Gary Hume, have a hand in drawing some cartoon classics or craft your very own 90s-style scrunchie with illustrious textile designer Samantha Warren.
‘Wannabe’ an artist? Join in on a Spice Girls-inspired ‘drop in and draw’ session, or get ready to renovate your tired home furnishings with an upcycling masterclass from painting professionals Craig & Rose. What’s more, delight in the fair’s daily tours and explore some of the most prized 90s pieces, and be sure to visit the ‘Thursday Late’ for after-dark drinks, workshops and talks with Jealous Gallery artist Dave Buonaguidi.
Don’t miss the fair’s Charity Private View for a night to remember with fair founder Will Ramsay, all in aid of the Royal Trinity Hospice. Not only can you discover a range of affordable artworks after hours, but there will also be an array of spectacular music and entertainment, accompanied by a delightful complimentary drink.
