Following her charming festive pop-up in Chelsea in 2018, luxury knitwear designer Alex Gore Browne is opening her second pop-up store in Woodstock, the idyllic market town in the Cotswolds, an area which she also calls home. Gore Browne cites the Cotswolds, with their quintessentially British feel, as a huge source of inspiration for herself, reflected in her beautiful knits which often feature playful additions of collars, ruffles and pearl embellishments in a chic throwback to a more archaic fashion era.
Since launching in 2000, the label has become beloved of the style crowd for its traditionally feminine yet innovative designs, as well as the range of quirky but highly wearable knitted accessories such as cuffs and rosettes. Gore Browne, who worked as a knit consultant at Nina Ricci and Alexander McQueen, shapes unique pieces by hand and combines yarn in a way that makes her approach to knitwear truly fresh. Her numerous famous fans include the likes of Kate Moss, Sienna Miller and Victoria Beckham.
Housed in a period building on Woodstock’s historical Market Square, the pop-up will feature a selection of signature sweaters in the softest Italian cashmere and merino wool, as well as new collection pieces including a travel set and limited-edition Christmas jumper. Look out for the ever-popular range of knitted accessories: the bows, collars, and cuffs are personally hand-embroidered by Gore Browne herself. Available along with these are new pieces like the knitted hair scrunchies, eye masks, and hand-painted jugs, the latter being a first for the designer.
A carefully-curated edit of homeware pieces and lifestyle accessories by friends of the designer, including Willow Crossley, Grace Wears, Ruby Kean and Edit58, will also be showcased alongside the collection.
Tuesday 15 – Saturday 19 October, 10am – 6pm
14 Market Place, Woodstock OX20 1TA
No need to book ahead, the pop-up is open for all.
