Battersea Power Station is getting into the festive mood by hosting a series of events throughout December in Circus West Village, London’s newest neighbourhood. There’s plenty on offer for adults and children alike: try your hand at candle making, learn to dance or enjoy a performance of Michael Morpurgo’s Mimi and the Mountain Dragon, a family theatre show taking place at The Village Hall from 22-31 December.
Quirky activities on offer include an LED Hula Hoop Disco where guests can learn how to hoop and dance with glow sticks and disco lights, and ‘Paint Jam’: a social painting workshop where you can create your own piece of art to take home.
You’ll also find a number of great places to eat, ranging from Tapas Brindisa to seafood restaurant Wright Brothers to authentic Japanese spot Tonkotsu – all of which will be offering special Christmas menus. Visitors can also enjoy live music on Fridays at Cinnamon Kitchen, a contemporary Indian restaurant featuring modern food created by celebrity chef, Vivek Singh. While you’re there be sure to check out the huge interactive Christmas tree installation created by Studio Bruyant, the Paris-based creative studio known for creating interactive work that invites the public to play.
Circus West Village is the first phase of the The Battersea Power Station project bringing the iconic Grade II listed building and surrounding area back to life with a blend of restaurants, shops, parks and cultural spaces.
Events run throughout December. Performances for Mimi and the Mountain Dragon run on select dates between 22 and 31 December from 11am – 4pm. Visit batterseapowerstation.co.uk for the full programme.
