This May Belgravia in Bloom will be returning for its fourth year in full blossom. The already beautiful streets of Belgravia will become even more so, as the annual floral festival takes over the area’s elegant streets with 50 incredible immersive installations.
This years theme will be “Floriography”, the Victorian-era concept which saw people sending secret messages through bouquets and potted plants (like messenger pigeons, but more chic). Visitors are invited to discover the hidden meanings behind the installations which will sprawl across Elizabeth Street, Motcomb Street, Pimlico Road and Eccleston Yards. In Halkin Arcade, you’ll find “The Mood Gardens”; four small gardens designed to improve mood and relieve stress, where you can also take readings from flower cards.
In addition to stunning installations, visitors are invited to take part in workshops. From herbal tea blending to floral illustration, the seeds of creativity will definitely be planted. Plus, retailers across Belgravia will also be getting involved with special products and experiences inspired by the theme of floriography. Nail bar London Grace will be launching a limited edition gift set, as well as hosting an event on 22 May inviting guests to enjoy floral cocktails by Bloom Gin whilst getting a pretty floral motif manicure. Or if you’re in the market for interiors, The Dining Chair Company are collaborating with fabric and wallpaper designer Ottoline De Vries to create a beautiful range specifically for the festival. For something more foodie, French patisserie Pierre Hermé will be creative two rose flavoured macarons; Rose and Isaphan (we’re not sure what that is either, but deliciousness is certain).
Go along and decode this age-old beautiful language of flowers – and snap a couple of pictures for Instagram, of course.
