Families are invited to celebrate the festive season at Ascot racecourse, where a Christmas Family Raceday is being held on 22 November. There will of course be world-class horse racing on offer, as well as plenty of seasonal extras including a festive parade, clip clop pony rides, huskies and festive arts and crafts. Children can also attend The Elf Training Academy, enjoy free fairground rides and meet Father Christmas himself, who will be in attendance along with his reindeer and Mrs Claus.
For the adults, fine dining and festive cocktails are on offer, and children can eat free throughout the day. The festive parade, which begins at 10.45am, runs up Ascot High Street and into the Parade Ring. Be sure to secure your spot in the Parade Ring by 11.15am for the best views in the house. Uplifting candle-lit carol singing will be taking place in the Grandstand with the Ascot Brass Band, the perfect way to end the day.
Track-wise, highlights include two £150,000 races: the ultra-competitive Wessex Youth Trust Handicap Hurdle and the Grade 1 JLT Long Walk Hurdle – one of the most prestigious long-distance hurdle races in Britain. There are a number of supporting races over the day too, offering punters opportunities to earn themselves a late Christmas bonus.
Ascot also host enchanting Christmas Parties for small shared bookings or exclusive large celebrations. Adult tickets from £18, free entry for under 18s.
