The world-famous motoring event Concours of Elegance returns to Hampton Court Palace this September, bringing together a selection of 60 of the rarest cars from around the world. This includes many cars that have never been seen before in the UK, from car clubs including Aston Martin Owners Club, Ferrari Owners Club, Jaguar Drivers Club and Porsche Club GB.
Many of the Concours cars will also take part in a two day driving tour in the days running up to the main Concours event. Uniquely, the Concours of Elegance winner isn’t selected by a panel of judges but by the owners of the cars themselves. Each participant is asked to vote on the other models on display to decide which car is considered to be the ‘Best of Show’.
While cars are clearly the focus, over the years the event has grown to celebrate other things too: luxury goods, fine food and drink, music and art. Opt for a Hospitality Enclosure ticket to enjoy a champagne reception from Charles Heidsieck, a three-course lunch, afternoon cream tea and reserved VIP parking. Positioned on the east front lawn of the Palace, the enclosure offers a perfect view of the cars too. Alternatively, pre-order a Fortnum & Mason picnic to enjoy at leisure in the palace gardens.
Concourse of Elegance began at Windsor Castle in 2012 before moving to St James’s Palace in 2013, Hampton Court Palace in 2014 and the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh in 2015, then returning to Windsor Castle in 2016 and to Hampton Court Palace in 2017. Hampton Court Palace is a Grade I listed royal palace, once home to Henry VIII.
