Don your best 60s’ gear, put some flowers in your hair and head to Daylesford’s Cotswolds farm for their charming festival, Summer Of Love – 1967. Now in its tenth year running, the Daylesford Summer Festival sees revellers from all over the country joining for good food, music and family fun. There will be plenty of organic, seasonal food to try, alongside barbecues, botanical summer cocktails and a food market, selling everything from charcuterie to cheese to bread. Keen chefs can pick up some cooking tips at the cookery school, which will be opening its doors for a series of demonstrations, including how to make the perfect Hollandaise, pop tarts and steak.
Daylesford’s Market Garden and working farm will be up and running, with activities like sheepshearing demonstrations, garden tours and tastings, plus the chance to meet organically reared heritage cattle, sheep, hens and chicks. Wellbeing is also a big part of the festival, with a dedicated wellness tent hosting nutrition talks, crystal healing and stretching workshops, and a spa-like area offering massages, facials and sound healing. The popular Vintage Car Showcase will also be returning, with the ‘Summer of Love’ vintage car concourse outside the farmshop, featuring classic motors.
Children, meanwhile, will be well catered for with activities like carousel and swing boat rides, retro 1960s games, floral crown making, face painting, ride-on mini JCBs and a cake making contest.
