Whether you’re an accomplished florist or simply adore arranging fancy florals and foliage, JamJar Flowers’ floristry retreat promises to be an educational and inspiring experience for those interested in all things beautiful and botanical.
Set against the backdrop of Stratford-On-Avon’s spectacular Grade I listed country house, Belcombe Court, visitors will spend one or two days – with an optional overnight stay – crafting beauteous floral sculptures, centrepieces and art pieces, all while exploring the skilful art of arranging. There will even be a chance to forage for foliage and select your own florals from the estate’s English Heritage cutting garden and grounds.
Guided by the floristry experts behind JamJar – the London-based bespoke floral design company who have adorned the likes of Mayfair’s Sketch with an astonishing 6000 hanging flowers – guests will indulge in garden tours, floral demonstrations and more, with the occasional break for tea and cake on the terrace. A delicious lunch will be served in the barn each day, and guests will be involved in dressing the tables for evening dinner with low urn floral arrangements and decorative linens, candles and tableware. There will also be an insightful and informative talk on the Saturday from JamJar’s founder Melissa Richardson on The Art of Flowers.
If not entirely for the floristry, do attend to experience the beauty of Belcombe. The 18th Century estate was designed by renowned English architect John Wood the Elder and features an array of delightful features such as an ornamental pond, box and yew topiary and fine specimen trees, a converted church barn, infinity pool, tennis court and an idyllic walled garden comprising of roses, grasses and fruit. Where better to learn the art of flower arranging than immersed within 45 acres of historical and picturesque parkland?
