Already booking in plans for the August bank holiday? Well, block out Saturday 24th, as the legendary Ms Lauryn Hill has just been announced as the headliner for the Saturday of Livewire Festival, a summer music festival in Blackpool. The excitement for this year’s festival is greater than ever after last year’s had to be cancelled at the last minute. However, despite this, Livewire has long been known as a summer music festival staple, attracting thousands of music fans to the seaside town for a weekend of great music, great vibes, and an all-around fun celebration. Livewire 2017 left attendees desperate for another instalment, as crowds were jumping to the sounds of the musicians gracing the stage such as Will Smith & DJ Jazzy Jeff.
So, with the announcement of ‘Doo Wop (That Thing)’ singer Ms Lauryn Hill, an artist that spans multiple genres including R&B and Motown, as the Saturday headliner, we can’t wait to follow Livewire’s news in the run up to the festival and find out who else will be performing.
The setting of the festival couldn’t be better for a summer celebration. Blackpool, just a 2hr 40 min train journey from London, is an English seaside town and resort on the Irish sea coast. Popular with families, Blackpool is most commonly known for Blackpool Pleasure Beach, an old-school amusement park. Livewire festival will sit right on the coast next to all the best of the seaside amenities, and the fresh sea air will, we’re sure, be a welcome addition to the music-lovers dancing all day and all night.
Convinced? Why not make a staycation of it by booking to stay at The Inn at Whitewell, an hours drive to the festival site but the scenic views make it well worth it. Book a room here for the duration of the festival and have somewhere warm and comforting to crash after a day of music, dancing, and fun.
