If getting fit is on your to-do list, why not do it for a good cause? This summer Macmillan Cancer Support is hosting Mighty Hikes; a series of rewarding, one-day hiking marathons taking place across the summer, at various destinations around the UK.
Last year’s Mighty Hikes saw over 10,000 people hiking an incredible 2,203,200 miles to raise £5.75 million, with each and every penny going towards the charity’s invaluable work providing emotional, financial, medical and practical support to the 2.5million people living with cancer in the UK.
This year, the first event is the South Coast Mighty Hike set along the South Downs Way from Brighton to Eastbourne on 8 June, while the final hike of the series departs from the Wye Valley from Chepstow to Monmouth on 7 September.
Whether you’re a running veteran or can barely run 5km, this is an ideal opportunity to do something great for a greater cause.
