Every foodie’s favourite festival is back and better than ever. Returning for its twelfth edition, Yorkshire’s Malton Food Lovers Festival will will play host to thousands of food and drink enthusiasts, comprising three days of festivities celebrating the best of British food, that from Yorkshire and beyond.
From the buzzy and large-scale producers’ market to live music, tastings and family entertainment, there will be plenty for everyone to get involved with. Street food vendors will be serving up an array of delicious treats, and you might even get the chance to see one of your favourite chefs in action as part of the festival demonstrations.
This year will also see Michelin starred-chef Tommy Banks debut as festival patron. The gourmet food connoisseur will take to the Main Stage to demonstrate the making of dishes from his acclaimed restaurants Roots York and The Black Swan Oldstead.
Festival director Tom Naylor-Leyland explains: ‘Our flagship food and drink event is not to be missed and this year we’re proud to welcome the very talented Yorkshire chef and long-time supporter, Tommy Banks, as our official Festival patron.
‘The Food Lovers Festival welcomed in excess of 40,000 visitors over two days last year to enjoy the unrivalled showcase of quality, artisan food and drink producers, entertainment, cooking demonstrations and masterclasses by talented chefs. With the number of visitors and traders growing year on year, we’re pleased to announce the Food Lovers Festival will extend to three days in 2020, allowing foodies to make full use of the bank holiday weekend.’
