To mark one year since its opening and kick off the festive season, cultural hub Peckham Levels have curated a two-weekend lineup featuring everything from vintage markets to workshops to DJ sets from local artists. The first weekend visitors are invited into the Winter Open Studios to enjoy a range of activities including a performance from dance empire The Movement Factory, t-shirt printing from 3rd Rail Print Space, a 30-strong DIY Makers Market and disco inspired cocktail bar Near & Fear.
The following weekend will be centred around celebrating Peckham Levels’ first birthday, with a Christmas market hosted by styling brand Wasted Chic and Pop Tart, with over 50 designers selling their bespoke and vintage designs. Guests can also take part in a beer treasure hunt: 500 tokens will be hidden around the venue, which can be exchanged for a free pint.
Vegans and vegetarians will be spoilt for choice food-wise – there’s everything from Pickywops vegan pizzas to bottomless brunch from veggie canteen Wildflower. But carnivores are well catered for too: indulge in fried chicken burgers from Other Side Fried or Drums & Flats chicken wings if you’re more inclined that way. As it’s a birthday, you can also expect birthday cake, glitter, confetti, prize giveaways and other celebratory shenanigans.
Peckham Levels was created last year by transforming the unused inner levels of Peckham’s famous multi-storey car park into a creative and cultural hub. It plays host to some of South London’s most interesting creators across food, drink, music, wellbeing and art, with the bottom five levels filled with creative facilities and studio space for artists and entrepreneurs including gal-dem, Bright Rooms, 3rd Rail Print Space and Ella Bull.
