Renowned for its high-end pies, The Pie Room at Holborn Dining Room is hosting its first ever ‘Pie Room Guest Series’; a celebration of the quintessentially British dish, pairing industry experts together to produce an array of signature pies.
Fronted by the Pie Room’s executive head chef and ‘master of pies’, Calum Franklin, the inaugural event will see the specialist chef collaborate with Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge, in which the two have produced an enticing steak and blue cheese pie to be served with tasty Rebellion ale and onion gravy.
All proceeds made from sales of the Franklin and Kerridge-curated pie will be generously donated to Hospitality Action, the charity supporting people within the hospitality industry. Sold for just £8, the pie will also be available to purchase for those in a rush via the street-side hatch.
What’s more, the two chefs will be hosting a special dinner for 10 lucky foodies, also in aid of Hospitality Action. Diners will delight in a bespoke menu featuring a range of delicious dishes and wine pairings, from rabbit and bacon en croute to truffle roast chicken, chasseur braised leg and an indulgent tirami ‘choux’ with hot chocolate sauce, with petit fours for afters. Speaking of the series, Calum Franklin said: ‘Everyone knows I am obsessive about pies so being able to share this experience with other chefs in the industry is really exciting. The fact that proceeds will be donated to amazing charities makes the experience even better and I look forward to welcoming chefs throughout the year to The Pie Room.’
Other chefs set to join Kerridge throughout the series, each with a chosen charity, will be announced soon.
