Even if you haven’t heard of The Edition 94, chances are you’ve come across the store’s products on your Instagram Explore page – and most likely saved it on your interiors Pinterest board. The Fulham Road institution is comprised of everything you wish you had found at a vintage market when instead you’re walking away with a candelabra you’ll never use. From short handblown Italian glasses and handprinted green linen tablecloths to a bamboo mirror and dresser, the shop’s curatorial eye is both on-trend and immaculate.
Among their covetable pieces are the ceramics of Florence St George, a ceramacist-potter-sculptor whose beautiful handcrafted creations make us want to take up pottery – and luckily now we can (for a few hours at least). In collaboration with Florence, Edition 94 will be hosting a series of pottery workshops over the 15 and 16 May. Guided by Florence’s knowledge and hands, the conversation-style hour and half session will give attendees the opportunity to sculpt on their own wheels and create a totally unique piece – and possibly spark a long-time love affair with the art form.
Notoriously hard to teach yourself, given the tools and technique required, these sessions offer a rare opportunity to learn pottery in a relaxed, comfortable and un-intimidating environment. Plus, with invitees including Poppy Delevingne, Laura Bailey, Alice Naylor-Leyland as well as members of The Cultivist art club, you’ll be among good company. The pottery workshop is the first of The Edition 94’s series of in store summer workshops.
