If you’re looking for a little merriment to help you get into the Christmas spirit, look no further than The Great Christmas Feast. As the title implies, this is no ordinary feast. This is a great one – so you better have your elasticated trousers at the ready.
A festive dining experience like no other, the ‘secret’ feast, hosted by live-art curators, The Lost Estate, will entertain and enthral with an exciting array of live music, captivating theatre, Dickens-inspired cocktails and a delicious four-course feast served up throughout a series of theatrical interludes.
Guests will enter the immersive experience through a ‘secret’ door leading to Charles Dickens’s chambers and an enchanting Victorian London. Immersed within the novelist’s legendary Christmas ghost story, A Christmas Carol, visitors will encounter an array of magical elements and individuals, including musicians, mixologists, and a tantalising feast. Dickens himself might also make an appearance…
Indulge in delicious festive dishes curated by Temper head chef, Neil Rankin, such as ‘Scrooge’s Supper’ comprising of pork popcorn, quince and terrine, ‘Ebenezer’s Christmas Past’, an appetising fusion of charred mackerel and apple, and ‘Tiny Tim’s Yuletide Wassail’, with honey, toast, almonds and spiced nuts. Be sure to save room for the pièce de résistance, ‘The Cratchit Family’s Feast’, an extensive sharing platter of wild pheasant and game, sausages, chestnuts, pears and all the traditional side helpings.
What’s more, there will be plenty of specially curated Victorian-inspired cocktails from London’s ‘secret’ Jazz club, The Lost Love Speakeasy. Delight in a warming cup of ‘Nephew Fred’s Apple Toddy’, a creative concoction of calvados, clover honey, lemon and Christmas spice tincture, along with the ‘Chuzzlewit Sherry Cobbler’, which features amontillado sherry, orange, mint and tangy winter Berries.
