Entertainment specialist Bourne & Hollingsworth is hosting the Official Oxford x Cambridge Boat Race Viewing Party this year. But this is no ordinary race celebration. This year, guests are invited to watch the boat races onboard a luxury river yacht and indulge in a flavourful three-course lunch – with delicious wine pairings – whilst sailing from the Savoy Pier to Putney.
The unique viewing party marks the first time spectators will be able to watch from the water, experiencing the 2020 races – the 166th Men’s and the 75th Women’s boat race – like never before. Guests this year will delight in all the action from the Silver Sturgeon’s open air deck which offers unrivalled views of the river.
Kicking off at midday, guests will be offered a glass of Chapel Down sparkling wine as they board the stylish yacht at Westminster’s Savoy Pier. Lunch will then be served amongst the boat’s sophisticated interiors, an array of delicious seasonal dishes from Doug Gaunt, head chef at Woods’ Silver Fleet. Expect the likes of oak smoked salmon with celeriac remoulade and apple blossom, leek & ratte potato pithivier with blacksticks blue and malted sauce, followed by a forced rhubarb, brandy snap and white chocolate cremeux dessert, plus delectable Chapel Down x Pump Street chocolate truffles.
There will also, of course, be a selection of specially curated cocktails to be enjoyed onboard, from a citrus-infused ‘raspberry collins’, to a refreshing ‘heritage fizz’ and summery English rose.
