This Autumn, Timothy Oulton, along with his cohort of eclectic designs and stories landed on the King’s Road to set up shop in his new showroom at the infamous Bluebird Chelsea Garage. To celebrate his arrival and mark the newly opened showroom, we’re putting on a very special event to allow Oulton fans and our readers to experience ‘the five senses of tasting’.
The 7,200 sq ft gallery space houses the different worlds of Timothy Oulton, taking visitors on a journey of past, present and future interior design trends. For an ‘Age of Elegance’ theme, furniture embodies the glamorous Jazz era with unique leather materials and Art Deco-inspired upholstery. ‘Metro’ is the style for urban consumers who seek a sophisticated balance of classic and contemporary with dark tones and eclectic pieces. For Jack Kerouac lovers, discover the ‘Beat Generation’ room that uses non-conforming shapes and objects to connote 1950s America. The ‘Loft’ theme is ideal for city lovers after warm colours and furniture that are ideal for entertaining in a compact space. Finally, the ‘Coastal Drift’ collection uses trendy, light and summery fabrics for those wanting a tranquil, carefree living setting.
In an intimate evening at Timothy’s treasure trove of a showroom, join us at our one-off event in collaboration with Timothy Oulton for inspiration, conversation and, of course, free-flowing champagne. Listen to our Interiors Editor Carole Annett and our Retail Editor Rosalyn Wikely discuss the five senses (sight, touch, smell, sound, taste) and the key part that they play in producing the ultimate dinner party. You’ll be able to immerse yourself in the mind of Timothy and explore his extraordinary personal selection of curated antiques from Rare by Oulton, which includes fascinating and unique pieces such as Louis Vuitton trunks, a giant fish tank and a ‘spaceship’, along with some other surprises to look forward to on the night…
