Voices At The Table No.12

May 22

Voices At The Table

What?

Voices At The Table continue their run of evenings filled with food for thought with a special event taking place at Town Hall Hotel. As usual, the line up includes an exciting mix of voices across the literary, performance and food worlds. Voices will be heard in the Art Deco Council Chamber, where guests can also enjoy a special At The Table menu courtesy of chef Simon Shand. Speakers include:

  • Author, journalist and podcaster Elizabeth Day
  • Chef and author Gill Meller
  • Chef, food writer and TV presenter Ravinder Bhogal
  • Essayist and writer Yemisi Aribisala
  • Writer and poet Jessica Andrews
  • Photographer, writer and publisher Riaz Phillips
  • Designer and food writer Caz Hildebrand
  • Poet, editor and academic Rebecca Tamás
  • Actor and playwright Stephen Hoo

Voices At The Table is the brainchild of Miranda York and Anna Sulan Masing. Motivated by a desire to change the way people talk about food, the pair founded TOAST Festival in 2012, a two-day event featuring speakers, a pop-up shop, a bespoke coffee bar and an art exhibition. Since then they’ve expanded the brand to Voices At The Table, hosting various events with opportunities for discussion around food, as well as recently launching a podcast, which features live recordings from the events. Their upcoming event at Town Hall Hotel will be the 12th in the series.
