Calling all wine enthusiasts! Here’s one for the diary. From 22-23 September, wine lovers and sommeliers alike are invited to ‘Wine Over Water’, London’s first floating wine festival, brought to you by Wanderlust Wine and the Totally Thames Festival 2018. Wanderlust Wine is an enthusiastic champion of sustainable, quality, independent wines made with love and honour, giving this event an artisanal and mysterious flair. Docked on the Southbank and with two sessions to choose from, passengers will be able to meet independent winemakers from all over the world and discover new flavours, as well as take in classic London views such as The Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.
Enjoy fine wine and conversations with the makers about current consumer wine trends. You’ll dine like British Sailor’s used to, supping on the marine-themed menu of ‘Sailor’s Rations’. Expect to try historic dishes that were once served on British vessels, adding authenticity to this refined experience and leaving you with not only a full stomach but a new found wealth of wine knowledge.
Taste award-winning wines from Hungary, South Africa, France, Italy, Romania, Australia, New Zealand and the UK. Plus, if you’re feeling lucky, take part in competitions including a blind taste test in which the winner will receive cases of wine. If you’re interested in wine, want to learn more about it or have an excuse to drink lots of it, board the ‘Wine Over Water’ boat and experience a multi-sensory journey over the Thames of wine, food and fun.
Board the dreamboat either Saturday 22nd or Sunday 23rd September 2018
Sessions are available at either 11am – 2pm or 2:15pm – 5pm
Albert Embankment, Lambeth, London SE1 7TP
Tickets cost £25 per person, which includes eight tasting samples from the selection on offer. Available to purchase via Eventbrite but be quick – they’re going fast!
