Here’s the motivation you needed to get to Friday.

London’s first all-prosecco bar has opened on the river near City Hall and Tower Bridge. The prosecco purveyor will be serving 27 different varieties from small-scale, family-owned vineyards in Veneto, Italy. The region spreads across a valley to the north of Venice, where the town of Valdobbiadene is poised as Prosecco Capital.

The official opening of the fizz-focused joint with a glowing wall of Prosecco and a marble topped bar will be on 23 February. From 5 February to 13 February, a thirty-percent-off soft launch will tempt those who are keen to pounce on a posh glass of prosecco. The bar stocks only Prosecco Superiore DOCG; glasses will start at £7.50, and bottles at £30. Prosecco-based cocktails, a selection of wine and soon, artisanal Italian beers comprise the alternative drink selection. Italian bar snacks include olives, focaccia, prosciutto, and goat cheese during the evening. The daytime menu of coffee and sandwiches might be a great cover for day-drinking.

Prosecco House has also captured another ‘London’s first’ with it’s delivery service in collaboration with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. The bar is the brainchild of Kristina Issa, who used to work in the slightly less bubbly and effervescent world of finance.

I love prosecco but could never find a glass of the same quality here in London compared to Italy. I wanted to create a bar that feels both luxurious but is also open to everyone and that all feel welcome. There is a gap in the market for a high quality bar serving the finest prosecco that is not in a hotel or a cocktail bar. – Kristina Issa
