Townsend

Modern British restaurant Townsend (which we reviewed glowingly here) had only been only open five weeks when lockdown struck. But that wasn’t going to stop the restaurant’s passionate team, lead by chef Joe Fox and restaurateur Nick Gilkinson. Instead, it’s launched Town-Send, a delivery service that takes its delicious menu of contemporary British dishes and serves it up in the comfort of your own home. You can order individual items, or its incredibly good value set menu for two with wine, where you have a choice between three or four dishes for each course. All the produce is carefully sourced from local British farms, and packaged up alongside straightforward recipes that even the most oven-shy person can follow. What’s more, Town-Send also has an online shop for all its incredible ingredients, so you can take a leaf out of the restaurant’s book and create your own dishes from scratch. Set menu for two with red wine, £40, townsendrestaurant.co.uk
