What To Do Today: Head to Springfest at Alexandra Palace
Back for the ninth year running, Springfest will be taking over Alexandra Palace this Good Friday to kick-start the Easter celebrations early. Expect Bavarian waitresses, an Oompah band and, of course, a great deal of beer.
Experience a true Oktoberfest at the UK’s largest German Bier Festival and grab a drink in the huge Bier Keller – with traditional benches as well as table service, you may not want to leave. Feeling peckish? Grab some German street eats from the various vendors in the Village Green. The Waffle Float will be serving delicious waffle goodness with extra toppings, or if you fancy something savoury, you’ll be sure to find a German Sausage to tickle your fancy from the 2,500 which have been shipped in. Dance your evening away after filling yourself up on food as Club De Fromage will be hitting the decks and an ABBA tribute is also planned.

Try some premium German Biers such as Schwaben Brau Meister Pils. Available with table service only, this particular beer will be served to you by an army of Bavarian bier servers. If you’re looking for something darker, try the jet-black and full-bodied Schwaben Braw Das Schwarze which is available from the Village Green Bar. Don’t forget to head over to the pretzel stand to enjoy a pretzel and then collect your souvenir stein to take the memories home with you.
25,000 pints of bier are on their way to the Palace, and so should you be.
