Charlie Day Gardens shellhouse

Charlie Day Gardens x The Talbot

After discovering the remains of shells embedded in the wall of a recess under one of its garden terraces, The Talbot hotel in Malton enlisted the help of Charlie Day Gardens to create this enchanting ‘shell grotto’. Based on designs of Italian Renaissance grottos, this iteration has been update with a McKinnon and Harris bench, Campbell-Rey Murano glasses, and an Alexandra Llewellyn backgammon set in Ziricote wood, inlayed with hand-illustrated palm leaves.

Gaze Burvill x Randle Siddeley

Quirky ceramics brand Shoopy Studio has only fuelled our obsession with its most recent collaboration with Camille Charriere and Evie Henderson. Proving the appetite for fashion/interiors crossover collaborations is here to stay, Lick has joined forces with fashion designer, Jessica Russell Flint, for a collection of six maximalist wallpapers. ‘I grew up surrounded by animals, the countryside and a house full of art, so imagination was everything,’ says Russell Flint. ‘I love anything that is expressive or emotive. I’m a people person; curious about characters and constantly analysing things around me.’

Though it may still be slightly too early to visit the ballet – de Le Cuona are honouring the arts in their own way, collaborating with principle Royal Ballet dancer, Edward Watson, for a  collection of seven fabrics inspired by movement. Linen, silk and virgin wool have all found their way into the collection, which has been created using the expertise and techniques of small specialist mills.

Keep your eyes peeled, because in spring 2021 Lewes-based ceramicists is releasing the new collection of ceramics that it’s been working on with Seoul fashion designer, Eudon Choi. Inspired by the trips abroad missed over lockdown, each piece is covered in vibrant, abstract patterns in candy-shop colours, and overlaid with playful nude line drawings.

British design house Woodchip & Magnolia have joined forces with fashion designer Pearl Lowe for a collection of four fabrics and wallpapers with a vintage twist. Comprising of four designs (Cameo, Selwood, Heirloom and Betty) the romantic design motifs of the collection include cameos, vintage florals, and Lowe’s signature flourishes of colour. ‘For this collection I drew on the grand regal influences of Victorian period,’ says Pearl Lowe. ‘I love how a design inspired by a long-gone era can be re-told for our contemporary world.’ From £120 per roll.

New Year’s wish list material incoming: it’s been a long time since we’ve been as excited for a collaboration between two British brands as we are for this new collaborative effort between Turner Pocock and Lorfords Contemporary. This covetable new furniture collection will launch early next year, and will be on view at Lorfords, Tetbury and at Tim Page, Chelsea Design Centre for the month of March. It includes sofas, armchairs, ottomans and the Fireside chair – all in a range of stunning fabrics and patterns. ‘Sustainable luxury has always been fundamental to my vision for Lorfords,’ says Toby Lorford. ‘I’ve long admired Turner Pocock’s unique aesthetic which interprets contemporary designs with a resolute determination to ensure they maintain the level of luxury and comfort of a timeless classic.’ A match made in heaven.

One for the budding art collectors: renowned artist and print maker Guy Allen has collaborated with London and Norfolk-based Kelling Designs. The resulting exclusive collection of limited editions includes original etchings and unique, one-off artworks. ‘Over the last decade, I have watched Guy emerge as a highly talented and aspirational artist,’ says Emma Deterding, the founder and director of Kelling. ‘It all started with a picture of a Norfolk terrier watching a bee, snd since then, Guy has continued to harness his talent and evolve his collections, going from strength to strength.’

London based Campbell-Rey (founded by Duncan Campbell and Charlotte Rey) have collaborated with online interiors concept store &YOU for a collection of glasses that we’d love to grace our dinner tables. Inspired by Le Jardin Majorelle in Morocco, with trompe l’oeil and geometry motifs, the Murano glass tumblers were made using craft materials and old world techniques.
