The Sofa & Chair Company launches King’s Road ‘Partners’ Pop-Up
The Sofa & Chair Company have created a bespoke installation in partnership with Designers Guild, Romo and Jason D’Souza
As part of this year’s London Design Week, luxury sofa and bespoke furniture specialists The Sofa & Chair Company have created an exciting new pop up titled ‘Partners’. Designed alongside leading fabric houses Designers Guild, Romo and Jason D’Souza, the installation will see The Sofa & Chair Company reimagine some of its finest pieces in new designs from the Spring 2019 collections.
The brainchild of Head of Interior Design Nicola Bissoli, ‘Partners’ presents emerging interior trends through a series of seven room concepts, using signature pieces from the collection.
“The installation saw us reinterpret some of our most iconic pieces by harnessing the in-house design team’s passion for creativity to create a capsule collection defined by pattern, colour and artistic expression,” says Nicola.
Interplay of texture and colour is a running theme throughout, with green, mustard, pink and blue tones working alongside intricate textured weaves and abstract prints.
A standout piece is the Parker chair, reinterpreted for one of the window displays in a rich Puccini Caramel fabric from Jason D’Souza and set against sheer linen drapes taken from Romo’s Zinc Wavelet range. In the adjacent window, the Sofa & Chair Company’s Love Sofa adopts a smart new persona, shown in a sophisticated check design from Romo’s Kuboa range.
In the living room, the centerpiece is The Sofa & Chair Company’s 1950s-inspired Mouna sofa, dressed in Le Gres Plage Souris and L’eden bois de rose fabrics from Designers Guild. Meanwhile the soft pink room set has been embellished with ornate artwork pieces and marble top occasional tables from the Dorchester range.
A restful green and blue palette is used in the bedroom, with The Sofa & Chair Company’s luxurious Serra bed reworked in Porto pebble from Designer’s Guild and complemented by the classic Monroe wing back chair in Puccini moss from Jason D’Souza.
Romo and Jason D’Souza have both been commissioned for the dining room, where The Sofa & Chair Company’s cosmic-inspired Neptune cabinet features alongside upholstered pieces in Romo’s Dice ochre, Kanti malva and Otaru ink fabrics and curtains in their Susa nuage.
“Our pop up demonstrates the versatility at the heart of our collection, which includes access to an unlimited selection of designer fabrics and long-established relationships with the world’s leading fabric houses,” adds Nicola.
The Partners pop up will be open to visitors at 320 King’s Road from 9 – 24 March. The collection will then be placed on display in The Sofa & Chair Company’s West London showroom as part of a guest fabric partner showcase.
