Bicester Village Is Hosting A Charity Bridal Boutique

It’s part of the designer outlet village’s Do Good programme

Bicester Village is set to open its first ever charity boutique to offer shoppers bridal pieces at a discount. The Brides Do Good pop-up is open until 9 May 2021 and is offering ethical and sustainable bridal wear donated both by brides and renowned bridal brands. Discount wedding dresses and bridal accessories with an eco-friendly edge? Answer: ‘I do.’

Brides Do Good X Bicester Village

Open until 9 May, the discount wedding dress and bridal wear pop-up will feature pieces that are preloved or donated as surplus, therefore lowering the environmental impact of the items. Funds raised through the sale will go to Brides Do Good, where a third of profits support charity projects working to empower girls and end child marriage.

Brands on offer will include Catherine Deane, Halfpenny London, Roksanda, Sassi Holford, Savannah Miller, Savin London and more. Shoppers can expect sizeable discounts on the items in the pop-up, giving them a chance to wear something spectacular on their big day, while also doing their bit for the planet.

The Rise Of The Vintage Bride

Wearing vintage on your big day is not a new idea; brides have been wearing pieces passed down through the family for generations. But searches for vintage wedding dresses and accessories have sharply increased in the last few years, suggesting a rising trend in brides wanting to go vintage.

You can read our full guide on how to buy a vintage wedding dress (it would be a good idea to read this before your visit to the Brides Do Good Bicester Village pop-up boutique) but a couple of things to remember are that sizes have changed quite drastically over the decades, and that just as a made-to-measure dress would require alterations, your vintage dress might need a few tweaks from a tailor to ensure a perfect fit. In fact, since you’ll likely be saving money by going vintage, you may have a little extra money in your budget to really make the dress your own with alterations and amends.
